The field of Life Sciences is continuously evolving with new tools and techniques coming into the picture. In recent years Bioinformatics has seen exponential growth and has become an essential part of every Biological project. Therefore, having an understanding of various Bioinformatics tools, techniques and methods has also become pretty important to every person working in the Life Sciences domain. With this view in mind, we have developed the Bioinformatics Learning Program @ GeneSpectrum (BLPG).

BLPG provides various learning options for learners to excel in different areas of Bioinformatics. We have training programs ranging from 1 month to 6 months and these programs can be attended online. Participants of BLPG will learn different methods, tools, and techniques of Bioinformatics and will be able to apply these techniques in their research and career. The advanced level of BLPG also covers training programming languages like python and R. The BLPG provides hands-on training in Bioinformatics and participants apply their learnings to complete a capstone project at the end of the training.

The 1 month training program covers basic aspects of Bioinformatics. This program is best suited for those who wants to understand different concepts in Bioinformatics.

There will be 20+ hours of training for first 15 days along with hands-on assignments and quizzes. The participant will perform a short project in the next 15 days where they will apply the knowledge earned during the training sessions.

There are many students who want to learn Bioinformatics in more details and make themselves ready for the industry. For such students which have designed 3 and 6 months training projects cum internship programs under BLPG. In these programs we cover specialized Bioinformatics topics like NGS Data Analysis for RNA-Seq/Methyl-Seq/DNA-Seq and Computer Aided Drug Discovery. There are programming courses included for Python and R. The participants will also get to learn Linux command line for Biological data operations. These trainings are divided into 3 modules.

3 months Training:
  • The first module is common for all the programs.
  • Participants opting for 3 months training program will have the option to select any one module from Module 2 and 3.
  • The training will be completed in 1 and half month. The remaining 1 and half month will be used to carry out the project.
6 months Training:
  • Participants will be trained on all the 3 modules.
  • The training schedule will be for 3 months. Participants will carry out project work in the remaining 3 months.
  • The project choice will be either NGS Data Analysis or CADD
Other details about the Program:
  • The successful participants will be awarded with an e-certificate.
  • Classes will be taken Monday-Saturday for ~2 hours. Participants can solve the assignments in their free time.
  • The trainings offered are one to one. So participant can start the training from any day.
  • Training can be conducted online and offline. For offline training participants will have to come to our office in Pune.
  • Each participant will be provided with presentations, recordings, and reference material.
  • There will be a 30 minutes one to one discussion session every week to solve queries.
  • The 6 months training cum internship program can be tailored as per the requirement of the participants
